Q:  How long have you been in business?

A:  We’ve been in business since 2007 or 17 years.

Q:  Are you full service catering company?

A:  Yes, we can provide full services including food, China, linens, servers, bartenders, bussing, clean-up and all other off-site catering services.

Q:  Do you have a commercial catering kitchen?

A:  Yes, we operate a strictly commercial kitchen in North Kansas City.

Q:  Are you licensed and insured?

A:  Yes, we are fully licensed by the state, county and local agencies.  We have full business liability coverage and can provide a certificate of insurance to any venue.

Q:  Do you provide custom menus?

A:  Yes, we provide a customized, individual menu for every client.  We welcome specific menu items requests and new menu ideas.

Q:  Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

A:  Yes, we can accommodate most common dietary restrictions.

Q:  Do you cater outside of Kansas City?

A:  We cater within 50 mile radius around Kansas City.  If you are outside of this radius we do charge a trip fee to compensate our staff for their travel time.

Q:  Do you have a minimum catering order amount?

A:  We have a $1,000.00 minimum catering order for general events and a $2,500.00 minimum catering order for weddings.

Q:  What forms of payment do accept?

A:  We accept cash, check and all major credit cards.  We do not have an ancillary credit card fee.

Q:  How much notice do you need to cater an event?

A:  Depending on the size and scope of your event, we require a minimum of 72 hours notice.

Q:  Do you offer tastings?

A:  For wedding or events consisting of 100 or more guests and/or $2,500.00 in projected expenditures, we offer complimentary, private tastings for two guests.  Additional guests, up to two, can be added at a cost of $35 each.  These fees will be applied to your deposit at time of booking.

Q:  Do you offer second tastings?

A:  We do not offer a second tasting prior to your event.  If you are interested in trying other proteins or potentially other items, often times we can create a to-go box of select items for you to try.

Q:  What is your down payment amount?

A:  Our down payment is 25% of your projected event total if your event is more than 60 days in advance.  If your event is less than 60 days in advance the deposit is 50% of the projected event total.  This down payment secures your date with Scrape the Plate.  We have no other payments due until your final guest count comes due 21 days prior to your event.

Q:  Do you cater more than one wedding in a day?

A:  Yes, however we do limit our schedule to no more than two weddings on a particular day, and no more than three on a particular weekend.

Q:  When is my final guest count due?

A:  Final guest counts are due 21 days prior to your event, unless otherwise stated in your contract.

Q:  When is my final payment due?

A:  Final payment is due five days prior to your event, unless otherwise stated in your contract.

Q:  What if I need to postpone or cancel my event?

A:  You may postpone your event (subject to availability) at no charge.  Your deposit will be applied to your new date.  Should you cancel your event, your deposit is non-refundable due to exclusivity of our date holds.
